Top Houston Fall Festivals 2018

The crisp air is rolling in, well not quite yet here in Houston but fall is here. Everything is flavored with pumpkin spice, so why not visit some pumpkin patches? The Houston and surrounding areas have a wide range of expensive family fun. I’ve compiled a list of the best festivals and pumpkin patches in the city. Dewberry Farm

Located in Brookshire, Texas this is a perennial favorite for fall activities. Their pumpkin patch opens only on the weekends starting September 30 through November 12. The farm has something for everyone and kids of all ages. They have hay rides, train rides, zip lines, corn maze, a barnyard, and over 500 lighted pumpkins in their Pumpkin Hollar. They have plenty an options for dining. General admission fee is $29.95 for ages 3 to 54, and various discounts are offered for seniors, law enforcement and military. Paid admission now includes most of the activities.

Old Time Christmas Tree Farm

Open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays in October. Admission is $5 to get in and you can purchase tickets for other activities or rides for $2. The ticket will get you a train ride and a hayride. You can also slide on the giant slide, mini slide, inflatable corn maze and bounce house with each $2 ticket. You can also purchase a value pack for $27 for 15 tickets.

St. Andrews Episcopal Church

St. Andrews Episcopal Church is also known as the “Pumpkin Church”. The church is located in Pearland and its one of the most popular in the area.

Froberg’s Farm

Located in Alvin and they open up their Fall Festival on September 30. The farm has a corn maze, hay ride, and a bakery. There are tons of fun family-friendly activities like football toss, face painting, and plastic duck races.

Blessington Farms

Just 20 minutes west of Katy you will find Blessington Farms. Admission is $18.48 to get entry and access to their activities. The activities include hayrides, giant slides, animal encounters, barrel train rides and more. You can also try your chances at fishing for an additional $6. They are open Saturdays and Sundays in October until October 29. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Oil Ranch

Oil Ranch kicks on its fall festival starting October 1. They are open seven days a week for the entire month of October. They have held a Scarecrow Festival and Pumpkin Patch for the last 20 years. With a paid admission each child gets a free pumpkin.

Halter Inc.

They train miniature horses year round and use them as pet therapy for special needs children. They are open every Saturday and Sunday in October. Admission for children is $5 and adults are free. They have a petting zoo, pony rides, haunted trail, a stockyard maze, a train and more. Most activities require 1-3 tickets; tickets are a $1 each.

Clear Lake United Methodist Church

For families down south Clear Lake United Methodist Church is a great option to get your pumpkin patch pictures. The patch is small and quaint and quite kid-friendly. Their first load of pumpkins show up on October 8. They are open every day after October 8 from 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

TGR Exotics Pumpkin Patch

This is an animal lovers favorite. They have aardvarks to water buffalo, and also more than a 100 animals from over 25 species at their wildlife park. The week before Halloween there are a few special ticketed events check their website for details.

St Luke’s Methodist Church

St. Luke’s Methodist Church opens the Pure Sound Pumpkin Patch starting October 7th at noon. After their grand opening, they will be open Monday’s through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Nature Discovery Center in Bellaire

Every year the Nature Discovery Center puts on a wonderful pumpkin patch. Entry is free, but there is a charge for food and rides. This year it will take place October 20-21 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Memorial Drive United Methodist Church

Come to enjoy their wonderful pumpkin patch and help them raise money for their summer mission programs. They are open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.

Old McDonald’s Farm

Your kiddos will have a blast on the 15-acre farm with a petty zoo, pony rides, train rides, and a swimming pool. All activities are priced at $12 +tax.

P6 Farms

P6 Farm has been around since 1973 and they have perfected the Fall Festival. They have a ton of rides and activities. You can also visit their haunted house.
