One of the most beloved bagel shops in Houston located in Bellaire is making some significant changes to its shop. New York City Bagel has a new, younger partner that is bringing in a bakery and deli.

Michael Saghian the new co-owner has a history in the restaurant business with Brisket Bar-BQ and a Houston Catering Concepts. He’s also known the co-owner Ed Gavrila all is life. The pairing began when Saghian approached Gavrila on adding the bagel shop’s offerings to his catering company. After that idea was in full swing, they also realized that Saghian could be a perfect replacement for Gavrila’s partner who was ready to retire.

The shop is also now known as The Bagel Shop Bakery and New York Deli and Coffee Shop. Guests can expect a new coffee bar with espresso offering. The will also introduce more family-friendly amenities like a kid’s menu and activities to keep children occupied while diners wait for a table. They will also add trendier items to the menu and on top of the list is avocados.

The new items will bring a modern vibe to the shop, but no need to worry old customer favorites will continue to be on the menu. The bakery’s menu will also be expanded.

They are also considering to expand space to provide seating for larger parties and perhaps a new or additional location. All these items are long term plans.

Menu favorites: Rueben Sandwich, Triple Salad Plate, and Egg Salad.
